  • Additional Cardholder
    • How do I get an additional card sent?

      Please phone our Customer Service centre on 0800 10 11 70 to request an additional card holder to be added to your account. Additional card holders must be over 18 years of age.  An additional card fee of $7 applies for each additional card issued.

    • Can I add someone to my account?

    • Can I add my husband/wife to the account?

      Please phone our Customer Service centre on 0800 10 11 70 to request an additional card holder to be added to your account. Additional card holders must be over 18 years of age.  An additional card fee of $7 applies for each additional card issued.

    • How do I get a joint account?

      To add a joint account holder to your account the joint applicant will need to complete the following form:

      The Joint applicant will also need to provide a copy a Bank Statement or Utility Bill in the joint applicants name and of one of the following forms of identification:

      • NZ Passport
      • Australian Passport
      • Current NZ Photo Drivers Licence (Version 5B must be supplied) New NZ Licences
      • Foreign Passport with NZ permanent residency stamp

      Once this has been completed please sign the form and send it to:

  • Lost / Stolen card
    • My card has been stolen, how do I get a new one?

      Please phone our Customer Service centre on 0800 10 11 70 to have your stolen card cancelled and a new card issued.

    • Can I get a new card?

      If you no longer have your card, or if it has been damaged and can no longer be used a new card can be issued to you.  Please phone our Customer Service centre on 0800 10 11 70 to have your stolen card cancelled and a new card issued.

    • My card is lost, I want a new one.

      Please phone our Customer Service centre on 0800 10 11 70 to have your lost card cancelled and a new card issued.

    • My card is damaged, I want a new one.

      Please phone our Customer Service centre on 0800 10 11 70 to have your damaged card cancelled and a new card issued.

  • Card not working / Declined card
    • Why can’t I use my card?

      If the purchase you want to make exceeds your available credit you will not be able to make a purchase on your card.

      You will not be able to use your card to make purchases if your account has expired or been closed, if your payment is overdue or if your card has been cancelled.

    • How do I close my account?

      To close your account your balance must be repaid in full.

      We do not permit cards to be cancelled while the account remains open unless they have been damaged, stolen or lost.

  • Reopening an account
    • How do I reopen my account?

      To apply for the reactivation of your account please phone our Customer Service centre on 0800 10 11 70. Please be aware that we may be required to ask you for information relating to your current employment, income and household expenditure.

      Once approved, reactivation will be actioned immediately.

    • How do I reactivate my card?

      To apply for the reactivation of your account please phone our Customer Service centre on 0800 10 11 70. Please be aware that we may be required to ask you for information relating to your current employment, income and household expenditure.

  • Shopping without card
    • Do I need ID to shop without my card?

      To shop without your card you’ll need to present any ONE of the following:

      • NZ Passport
      • Australian Passport
      • Current NZ Photo Drivers Licence (Version 5B must be supplied) New NZ Licences
      • Foreign Passport with NZ permanent residency stamp
      • Firearms Licence
      • Q Card
      • New Zealand Police Force Photographic ID

      If you do not have any of the above you’ll need to present any TWO of the following:

      • MasterCard
      • Visa Card
      • American Express Card
      • Diners Card
      • The Warehouse Card
      • Powerstore Card
      • GE Credit Line Card
      • Smiths City Card
      • 18+ Card (Issued by NZ Post Only)
      • NZ Defence/Armed Forces Card

    • Can I make purchases online?

      Farmers Finance Card can only be used to shop online at farmers.co.nz. Find out how here.

    • How do I shop without my card?

      To shop without your card you’ll need to provide some identification to the sales person, and we’ll need to speak to you over the phone.

    • Where can I shop without my card?

      We recommend taking your Farmers Finance Card with you everywhere – there are loads of stores all over NZ that accept Farmers Finance Card.

    • Can I make purchases by phone?

      Some retailers accept phone orders for Farmers Finance Card.

  • Expired card
    • When will my card expire?

      Farmers Finance Cards do not have an expiry date.  However, if your card is unused for some time, your account itself may expire and you will need to contact Customer Services on 0800 11 10 70 in order for us reactivate this for you.

  • Credit limits
    • Can I spend over my credit limit?

      Your credit limit the maximum amount of credit available for you to use.  Purchases over your credit limit will be declined automatically at the point of sale. 

      If this happens it is possible to pay a deposit for the amount of the purchase that is over your limit to allow the purchase to go through.

    • Why is my balance over my credit limit?

      This can happen if interest, fees or other charges are made to your account while the balance is at the credit limit.  There are no fees, charges or other penalties for having a balance over your credit limit – it just means you won't be able to make any more purchases until you make payments to reduce your balance.
